Be in the Now

What are impressions? I suppose they can be compared to anywhere from "footprints in sand" to "carvings in stone". Some fleetingly made and some more heavily pressed into our memories.

What makes impressions?-- it could be events (happy or otherwise), imaginations of the mind through reading, watching pictures on TV or movies, listening to stories or narratives, etc. WOW!!! that is a whole range of experiences a human being moves through in life.

How do the impressions affect us? Consciously or unconsciously our behaviors, responses, and choices are affected by these deep set impressions.

Why do we need to remove impressions? Imagine your mind like the photographic plate exposed multiple times is so cluttered with images that there is no clarity, no focus. Now imagine a mind like a blank page which is pure and clear, the possibilities are infinite and the signals much clearer-- the slate that erases itself and is ready for fresh experiences, is open to deeper learning and gives a clear vision.

Meditation is the beautifully effortless and deeply restful tool to remove the impressions and the clutter, so one can truly experience the "Now" in every moment.
